Witnessing True Love
Our weekend in St. Helena started by arriving at our beautiful home which was found by the master of planning vacations, Eve! This gorgeous cabin was exactly how I pictured decorating my own cabin (if I'm lucky enough to own one) as it was so welcoming and homey. Soon the house was filled with all the cousins and the star of the weekend: Lucianna.
The first event of the weekend was a welcome dinner at Gott's Roadside Burgers. Before arriving, the Trifecta tried to use their collective powers to open a car without keys - unfortunately their expertise didn't work, but it all sorted itself out in the end. The evening was truly beautiful - filled with scrumptious food, a 49ers cake, and true warmth.
The wedding day started with a good old fashioned family breakfast! Many Josue cooks around the stove made hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, sausage, and of course - Spam. It was a rare experience to sit around a table with so many of my cousins and it felt like an out of body experience as I thought to myself how happy I am to be here in this moment.
After a stressful ride, we arrived at the wedding and it was more stunning than I could have imagined. The venue was simple - its beautiful landscapes was enough to make it feel extremely special. The food was to die for, the music was bumping, and I adored that photobooth!
The final day of vacation was spent having a yummy brunch then a relaxing pool day. We sun bathed and played pool games all day. Check out Rob's instagram for a video of the best pool stunt of the day featuring Tom and Jason.
When pondering the title of this post, "Witnessing True Love" felt right. It wasn't watching two people beaming with joy as they say their vows, it was the love felt between each family member this weekend. We are a big and crazy family, and though there are disagreements and annoyances, I don't think a single one of us doubt the immense power of the love within our family. Especially for myself, as I rarely get to see my cousins- their interest and questions into my life and happiness show me how much they truly care.
Ron and Liz - I am so grateful for the experience and memories you gave us all. I can never imagine a way to repay you for what you've given us.
To the rest of the Josue (& sig others) clan - Thank you for continually teaching me the genuine definition of love.
