365x25: October
In September 2015, I started yet another project. I set out to take one polaroid photo everyday of my 25th year of life. Instantly, I knew I had to showcase these photos somehow on my blog. As the idea grew, I decided to one up myself and challenge myself to create a video per month to share these photos with you. About five months into this project, I've already learned a lot about myself and my camera:
- If you have an Instax Neo - avoid shooting with flash at all costs. It never works out the way you imagine, but also remember that the ISO on the camera is relatively low, so you need a TON of light to shoot with no flash. The "D" flash feature is the best option, by far.
- We have friends over at our place ALL OF THE TIME. Whether it's a big dinner gathering or the boys for games night - there's someone in our living room at least once a week.
- I have a very poor short term memory. I often forget my own tips to shoot with this camera because I can't remember it by the next day.
- I truly love negative space - it's a love affair that will never end.
- Much more happens in a month that I realize. Too often, I think that my life is passing without adventure, but these photos and videos prove me wrong.
I realize that it is January and I just finished the October video - but I decided not to let the time it takes for me to make these videos stop me from creating them. I've allowed my fear of imperfection stop me from creativity far too often. Plus, I've got November and December in the can and should be ready for your viewing pleasure next week.
Oh! And during the upload, this video experienced a few blips. For some reason - I think they add to the October/Halloween theme, so I left them in. Also, Charlie apologizes for his fur all over the sheet in this video. He does not apologize for his appearance.
